So here I am for the newest update on my potential adventures in the Republic of Korea! woot.
Actually, a bunch has happened and I’ve done a lot but I’m going to update one post at time.
Since I left you, gentle reader I was in a panic over my passport. Well, some other stuff popped up about it that you might need to know.
I got confused about the passport being needed for my application. Not true. I need it if I pass the phone interview though which, time-wise worked out to be the same thing. I still wouldn’t have got it in time if I hadn’t paid the extra money.
It’s kind of retarded that they only have two options for passports. One week or six, and the jump in price is almost exactly double. However, onto the saga of my passport!
After acquiring another application I succeeded in filling it out with minimal cries of anguish and hair pulling. My schedule at work being the craziness that it is I had to go before work to the ONE post office in all of Greenville that has a passport office. I stood in line for thirty minutes, waiting behind three hispanic families getting passports for their infants only to get up to the counter and be told that I could not apply because I had only ONE PASSPORT PHOTO.
For the life of me I could not find anywhere the requirement of having two. Obviously, I’m an idiot. If I wasn’t I certainly felt like one. ARGH.
Next day, two photos. Accepted. yesssssssssssssss.
Have to pay extra to get it in time. $145. WHAT? Fine. Now check for $45 to pay the post master and the overnight fees. UGH. So almost $200 later and almost late to work twice, here she is!
The result of much confusion and massive amounts of anxiety and frustration respectively.
WOOT
